we have Seafood Fest, German Fest (im in wisconsin, EVERYBODY is of german heritage practicly), and every thursday night in summer there is a thing called Music On Main where some local band plays a concert in this little park. they block off the whole road, its pretty neat.
a town near us tho has Port Washington Pirate Days. THATS some serious fun. a pirate ship shows up friday morning (serious pirate ship, riggings, cannons, the whole nine) and they just takeover the town for the whole weekend. its 3 days of nautical nonsense and people running around yelling YARRRR!!! i love it
the summer fun festival. its a 2 mile long sidewalk sale down main street along with a carnival
and this other thing that they do on the first friday of every month. the shops up and down mainstreet have outrageous sales and cafes and shops hand out free food and goodies. and local bands play outside of the music shop.
