Hey, whats goin on out there? My name is mark and I’ve been into the whole jam scene since 2003 now and have been having a blast!! I’ve been on the road going to some of the biggest music festivals this summer that the USA has to offer… Langerado, Rothbury, Summer Camp and All Good!! My Question is this.. My friend’s family has a ton of land and big open fields next to Big Creek Lake in Mobile,AL which easily could fit like 3 big stages and probably easily be able to have 15,000- 20,000 people camping for 4 days!! I would like to call it ‘Big Creek Fest’ and the family has agreed to let it go down if it is possible to make it happn soo i’m kinda curious how to get thing started??? Thanks, Mark

I also really like dancehall reggae… I’ll have to admit that Sean Paul is a guilty pleasure of mine (I even got to meet him backstage once!). Anyway, I’d like to start listening to more reggae, especially the modern upbeat type of stuff, but I guess I don’t know where to begin. What reggae artists are popular these days? Where can I go to download the music? Are there any reggae festivals coming up in the DC area?

Try and get f. ex. local firms sponsor you for advertising space.
And one more major thing: make the event as unique as possible. Every village and city has its own little festivals, you have to stand out.

You need to be fit and self sufficient to make it to the event and anyone can perform. No tickets, word of mouth, no vendors, just great people and friends. Hard part is packing in the equipment up a very steep mountain and maintaining the solar electric power for the show.

I want to start a music festival with bands from out west that never make it this way, I guess mostly becuase there aren’t a lot of college campuses here or something else. I want it to be alternative music with bands that have a sound like Something Corporate, Jacks Mannequinn and genres of the like. Where would I even begin to start something like this? I know it could take a year or more to put something like this together.

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009Ok, I have a MAJOR PROBLEM. I would like to go to Download Festival 2009..but I have GCSE’s. The festival starts Friday 12th June – Sunday 14th June. But if I miss an exam I have to pay 15 to re-do it. Also how old do you have to be to camp in a tent there and do they check for ID anyways?
