The toiles are t in the park are disgusting, so prepare her for that.
She’ll need sun block if the weather is nice, I always end up getting burned.
Buy a padlock for her tent so she can keep her stuff safe as there are often a lot of thieves around!
Baby wipes are a must, as is plenty of deoderant because as the weekend goes on, it gets pretty minging!
Plenty of water. If she’s drinking a lot of alcohol, the water will be a welcome break! Snacks, and loads of them! You always end up running out!
Tell her to be careful with her money too!
A money belt is a good idea. they shouldn’t bring valubles that they can’t carry with them as theft does happem. lots of wet wipes are invaluble especially for using the toilets.
She should bring a lightweight rain jacket (packamac/plastic-poncho) as being soaking wet makes you pretty miserable – especially if it’s early in the day (black bin liners also work well for this)
Sun screen as she doesn’t want to burn if the sun comes out.
She and her friends should arrange a meeting place early on so that if they get split up they know where to find each other – mobile reception can sometimes be slow or completly unavailable.
Don’t leave it til the last minute to go to the loo as there are often huge queues
I love going to festivals and I am sure your daughter will have a great time.
take your own toilet paper, travel size tissues will do,
tell her to arrange a meeting place when they get there in case they get separated, keep her money in a pocket, waterproof clothing in case of rain, bin bag for dirty washing, set their tent up near a security tower, make sure they know where first aid tent is, make sure they have enough money most festivals won’t let you take your own drinks in so a bottle of water/coke etc will cost over a pound if old enough to drink alcohol three quid ago thereabouts, and most of all enjoy
Here you go,
I’m of to V festival this year with my daughter – missed out on Glasto boo to that.
Plenty of loo roll
Wellies – If it rains, the welly stalls sell out in 5 minutes
Lots of plastic bags. Pack everything in them, they keep it all dry
Bin liners are great too: useful to sit on – and they fit in your pocket!
A lightweight waterproof coat and hat
Combats make great festie trousers – lots of zippable pockets
Paracetamol/aspirin for the mornings after
Your mobile (make sure it’s charged up and keep it with you all the time. You could get a disposable or battery-powered phone charger before you go.)
Sunglasses, sun hat and plenty of sun cream (just in case!)
Thick jumper – even summer nights get cold
Loose clothing
Torch plus batteries
Tampons if you’ll need them
Tin opener
Condoms – you never know
Sleeping bag
Tent (if you’re sharing a tent and a you’re carrying parts of it separately, make sure you all know who’s responsible for bringing what before you set off)
Soap/baby wipes. No-one likes sharing a tent with someone who smells.
Chocolate. If your money runs out, something with high amount of sugar will keep your energy up for the long trek back home.
If you wear glasses, try and pack a second pair. They’re a common casualty in an excited crowd.
Bring all your drinks in plastic bottles (glass ones might get confiscated at the entrance.)
Don’t bring:
An attitude
Glass bottles – they’ll be confiscated
Your favourite pair of shoes
Any of your favourite clothes
Anything you can’t carry with you all the time. eg: heavy cameras
Anything at all which you’d really miss if you lost it
