this guy is totally making a joke out of a serious problem. However I do agree that there are some MAJOR flaws in the system. but still doesn’t make it better when this guy is doing this making it seem like a 5 star live style

  • MrMcmikemike says:

20% of vancouver’s homeless actually have jobs

  • shelski72 says:

This doc is great and all – but the fucker is cashing in on my hard earned tax dollars. Someone’s going postal over this one.

  • shelski72 says:

fuck you canali suit guy – faggot

  • estea1 says:

This section of the doc has some serious b.s. in it. Many homeless paople with serious mental illnesses struggle to get correctly diagnosed, and then to get approval, so that they can get well deserved support. It’s not even close to this easy to get dissability income in Vancouver.

  • shelski72 says:

    GET A FUCKING JOB!

  • Skulls2300 says:

where did he get the wheelchair??

  • thehenryman says:

This sums it up the homeless in Vancouver. I totally pity the ones who have mental/physical health issues. These people need help and they should. HOWEVER, there are others who think EVERYTHING should be ENTITLED to them!!! NO, nothing is free, you’re not entitled to anything. You need to work for them so that you can enjoy them.

This is one of the problems in Canada, esp BC. Rampant socialism/liberalism is destroying our country, through successive Vision gov’ts.

The Province article says three levels of government spent $360 million providing housing and services to 5,000 people in the DTES (the fact that they have housing means they are not homeless).

Your movie says “each homeless person costs the City of Vancouver $75,000″. That implies that one level of government is shouldering that cost.

Not every homeless person in Vancouver lives in the DTES. Hundreds are spread out across the city. You fail to distinguish between the homeless and the DTES.

@CoreyOgilvie Thanks for the ‘splaining, Corey. Best, M

  • 123MRoberts says:

What a crock!!! I was with the man in the suit and can telly you that before the camera started to roll, we were practically begged to lap it up for the camera. In fact he was asked to speak on his obviousl well dressed appearance as a contradicition to his own. The man in the suit is actually a very nice guy and this is way out of context! Shame on the producers for exploiting the power of the camera and media!

  • gazizzerbumph says:

    @CoreyOgilvie
Dude, admit it. This is just an excuse to appear on YouTube in your underwear.

  • CoreyOgilvie says:

I took my figure from Operation Pheonix, a very recent, expensive multi-tier year long study from The Province. The problem is no one will ever know the exact number as the population is always fluctuating, the exact number ever-changing. Yet another unsolvable aspect of the DTES problem: no one has any true knowledge since the population is so fluid and invisible in many ways. Again, I try not to blame anyone or point any fingers, just show the facts as they’ve been by others.

  • 19580909 says:

In “A Thousand Dreams” the three authors give a dollar figure of $55,000/person. Corey, do you disagree with their figure? Best, Michael

  • gnomit says:

oh ya i forgot about that… i dont care if that guy is a fag or not, but he definitely a huge wanker. Oooh look at my 2000 dollar suit and 200 dollar socks. WHat a prick.

  • EruditeSoul says:

This guy is not even the kind of person who finds themselves down and out.

  • EruditeSoul says:

…Douchebag cred rising. This is ridiculous.
