if you have fun putting it together, keeping it going. alternately you could rent your land to the project, and hire people to organize 90% while you worry about the porta-potties and where to put the stage so that the toilets are as inconvenient as possible. making sure your operating costs are off set before donating the profits to your retirement fund, or a local homeless shelter.
it is after all your time, land, and energy. or you could hold the “party” every other year.
Burnout is common for Pagan organizers. If it’s important to you, you should focus on it exclusively, at least this time of the year and refuse to get involved in other events. Don’t plan anything else and focus on this one thing until it’s over. If it’s not that important, let it go. Meditate on it. Look seriously at how much good it’s doing you and the community at large. Only you can really answer this question.
If you can’t find the answer within, you’ll never find it outside.
If you get out of it what you put into it then keep it going. If you need more help than you’re getting, then tell people….I’ve organized festivals and concerts sometimes with little or no help and still made things run well, but I stopped for a while because the people who benefitted from it did nothing to support or help out. A few shows that didn’t happen because i wouldn’t run things brought about a pretty quick change in attitude.
As for the *** who said yer gonna go to hell for yer pagan ways….just in case you’re forgetting, the Christian faith has been responsible for some pretty un-Godly attrocities….so don’t go thinking you’ve got some sort of monopoly on morality. If Jesus was alive today he’d be pretty pissed at what people have made of his teachings.
