check out a martin backpacker, their not expensive and they come in a carrying case that goes over your shoulder. great for festivals.
A few years back Ovation made a small guitar 2/3 and tuned to pitch. Billy Gibbons and Nigel Tufnal, a.k.a. Christopher Guest (Spinal Tap) used to use Chiquita guitars. I do not know what is currently on the market
get a small strat like an ibanez GIO but only you can decide what you like go into a large guitar store chain like guitar center or sam ash and ask them, It IS there job!
ive got a touch screen phone and there is some cool guitar apps for them if you dont why not try a ukulele
