Howdy!
I have been attending CMA Music Festival (or Fan Fair as we used to call it) since 1995. Every year brings more and more excitement to the Fair.
-The day starts off witht he opening of the doors at Fan Fair Hall (which has AC to keep cool). The are open the whole day and that is where you get all your autographs! Sometimes you have to get tickets from a booth to be in a line to get an artist signing. You must inquire at the booth at thier specific policy.
-Next you can go to Riverfront Park. THIS IS NOT FREE!!!! People can pay for single day tickets or get the 4 day pass to this event. This is where the music goes on all day.
-There is another stage in front of the Sommet Center (next to the Country Music Hall Of Fame) which is free.
-There is also a fun zone for the kids across the street from Riverfront Park. There are blowups and games, and some music too!
-The sports zone is where the celebs compete in sports activites which can also be fun to watch.
-At night everyone makes there way across the Shelby Street PEDESTRIAN ONLY Bridge to go to LP Field to see the nightly concerts. When you register at the fair you will get a book telling you the full music schedule. (unless you are staying at Opryland, they register for you).
-After the nightly concerts end you can go around town to the bars and clubs (like the Wildhorse or Tootsies to atart) to see after hours performances.
-Bring comfortable shoes, and lots of water.
-Umbreallas and coolers are not allowed in LP Field.
-Sunscreen is a must along with sunglasses!
There a few extras to do while in Nashville:
-City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge- Countrys biggest stars compete in a softball game. http://www.cityofhope.org (seperate tcket)
-Grand Ole Opry shows Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (for Opryland Guests only!)
When do you arrive in Nashville and where are you staying?
I live in Nashville- my suggestion is get to everything you want to go to EARLY! This year, the riverfront stages are free all day so it will be really crowded (it’s crowded even when you have to pay, so this year will be worse) Concession stands are expensive so bring plenty of cash- most of the venues don’t allow coolers. You can’t get into the fan club parties unless you’re a member of the fan club and it’s too late to join now for the invite. Go to the convention center for autographs- a lot of good people will be there this year- Reba will be there after a long absence. Have fun, stay cool, stay hydrated- it’s a blast!
I went years ago, I just remember being very hot and thirsty! Lines are very long.
Bring cameras and autograph books. Drink lots of water and wear comfortable shoes. Don’t forget a hat
and MONEY. See if any of your favorite artists are having a get together for their fan club. I went to one for my favorite & won a raffle. It was a 5′ x 3′ blowup of an album cover, which he autographed. I still have it hanging on the wall. It was fun trying to get it in the car!
I had a blast watching and meeting all of the artists.
Have fun, I’m jealous
never been but always wanted to go sounds cool just relax be yoursel sing along with songs you know (loud) and scream for people you like and if you have a 93Q shirt where it you might be able to meet a artist thats how i met kevin fowler
