Better ask in the Oz section as already mentioned mate.
I went to the very first one back in 1997 and a few times since and I had the time of my life, I’m a pommie by the way..

im just curious, why particularly australians?
well am malaysian, been living in aussie for quite sometime. and this is indeed the first time i have come across it. but that’s probably only because i dont pay much attention to arts and musics and what not.
south australia is the state of festival in australia, and if anything, those people from womadelaide may know but still, it is highly unlikely that anyone would fly that far away for it if it wasnt an international event, or internationally recognised event

ermm… ain’t you suppose to ask this q in the Australian Section?
my sister will go to this festival every year.(let me know, if you can give her free tickets for this year, coz she will surely ask the money from me, haha). check with her just now, not only Australian hang out there every year, the whole world is there during the festival. I mean, from any country around the world. US, African, Brazilian……
me, myself > never been there, just get a glimpse of it on TV.

I guess many of the keen supporters of our own world music festival (Womadelaide) may know of it but it is not known by the general public (myself included)

  • Adi Keladi says:

The funny thing is that even most Malaysians are not aware of such event.

  • ¥op says:

  • Mad Cow says:
