love this video
just got me a B17 couple of days ago
haven’t installed it yet
i just keep looking and admiring at it
didnt know so much work went into it
its worth every penny i paid for it now that i know
Brooks are fantastic saddles, and last for years. I have a B17 special fitted to my bike. Love it.. After the initial “breaking in” period the saddle will fit your behind like an expensive tailored suit – Perfectly.. Great value too when you take into account that they get better with age, rather then degrade. Looked after properly a Brooks saddle will last years, and many many years at that.. B17, Flyer and Swift are most common, but there is a huge range.
Got a black B72 a couple months ago. Awesome saddle. Did 55 miles the first time I rode it (I weigh about 350 lbs). The break-in period never happened for me. It has been comfortable from day one. It’s a keeper. Also bought the proofide can for it and a black challenge tool back. Looks great.
I have Brooks Swift saddles on both of my road bikes. They start to soften after about 500 miles and after 3K, they are an anatomic fit. Would not ride on anything else. And they do, in fact, last forever.
As far as I can tell these seats shift the pressure away from your chode (aka perineum or bonch) and on to your butt bones (or cheeks) due to the stiffness of the leather. It seem strange at first, but if you try one you’ll see what I mean.
@emforty2 Me neither!
I’ve watched this video over a dozen times since its upload
never get tired of it……..and I don’t know why

most comfortable bike seat i’ve ever ridden. gel seats included.
They aren’t comfortable, they’re just “cool”. All bike seats squish the nuts.
