Awesome song. If anyone has seen the west coast of Tasmania they will have a true appreciation for what the convicts would have gone through to trek from Strahan to Hobart. No picnic.

very interesting story about this song. i fell asleep listening to ABC FM on my MP3 player, and i woke at about half past three with my head phones in my ears, and this song was playing. id never heard it before, but it has such a catchy and addictive style to it, so i recorded it off the radio and searched the lyrics on google and ended up here. fantastic song, even better now cos i know what its about. love it heaps

Just seen them twice in two days at port fairy folk festival. Man they rocked. I agree they are australias best live band ever. Bono once rated miick as the world’s greatest singer songwriter ever. I agree!!!!
